Ah, sorry for not registering on this forum sooner. =/

This is certainly unexpected. We were just assuming it'd be yet another year with absolutely no guests at a UK convention again, but hey, I guess they must have listened to one of us.

Me and Matt_D will definitely be there!

Do you hear that sound? That's the sound of wallets in Japan suddenly weeping.  :'(

I'm pretty sure I'm not going.  :'(

World Tour indeed.

We'll be there and if any fans are turning up we're happy to meet - greet - and take you to pubs!

Wonder if I can fit another signature on my world tour t-shirt lololololololol

I was sitting in a department lunge when read this first... got a couple reactions to my sudden facepalming and orzing. No way I can afford this. I'm probably going to go to Dream Party Osaka though...but it's not the same as a western con :(

Have fun, you guys!

I'm sure it goes without saying, but hopefully there'll be pictures and video, yes? ;)

Ah... The UK is way too far for me to go. (California to Europe is not cheap =D)

I'm glad the Europeans are getting a chance to see Halko though!

I hope there's a huge fanbase that attends (Otagei in the UK =D), and I expect pictures and descriptions of the con afterwards :)

So true. T_T

There will almost certainly be pictures from me (unless my camera dies in a freak lightning strike or something, lol).

UK conventions are a little different to all of the overseas conventions i've been to.... much smaller, with generally not a lot going on during the daytime, everyone just loitering around waiting for the jpop/anime music parties at night which everyone at the convention attends (well apart from guests... unless they want to i suppose).

The highlight of a UK convention is usually the "pub quiz" (do other countries have pub quiz's in pubs, or is this only a British thing? lol), basically it's an anime quiz in the bar area (hence "pub quiz") with teams of 5-10 people, it's all for fun, the questions are usually completely silly, and most teams end up getting ridiculed in various ways by the hosts.

If i remember rightly Ayacon has a pretty decent hall for concerts... about the same as Connichi had... big open space at the front, and then seats going up the back.

EDIT: Also, for anyone wanting to go sightseeing in England, this is near-ish:

Dangit, why did I have to spend so much at Fanime  :(  I might not have enough even for Expo Comic (once it's official), but we'll see...

Good thing InsaneLampshade, Matt D., kumasanmk, coverman and 8BB76E1 (did I miss anyone?) will be there to represent!  Oh yeah, let me know if any of you want me to send some bulk glowsticks for the concertgoers there  ;D.  I'll probably need an address for shipping.  I wanna do what I can to light up the concert in Europe!  ;D
