Looking at their forums, someone said the concert is confirmed, based on using Google Translate (damn it, Montreal means French speaking land  ;D ). Anybody need a parts of a liver or a kidney? I might have these for sale. After August 15, that is. But payment up front.

I would like to go, but even if I did have the funds, my iaido week long seminar overlaps with those dates.

I was thinking the same thing, but alas, you're in the land of Milk Lariat.  ;D

Probably shouldn't even be considering this, but it might be possible.

Well over the last few days a couple of us shifted from maybe to definite.  I really shouldn't waste any east coast appearances regardless of Canada or US so I'll be there for the weekend.

It's not the best idea I've had, but what the hell, it's only money.

I'm committed now; I dun bought me some plane tickets.

Any Canadian friends thinking about making the trip?

I know they say it's a bilingual convention but their forums seems to be 75/25 French. Most people can speak English, too, but I wonder how strong the accent. :P

There's a little accent, but nothing a native English speaker will have trouble with. Most big cities in Quebec are primarily French speaking, but Montreal is an exception since it's right across the river from Ontario so pretty much everyone there speaks fluent English. And the con will likely be expecting lots of visitors from nearby Ottawa which is almost all English speaking.

You see, when I was returning my rental car during my last excursion up north, the guy I returned the car to had such an accent that I couldn't for the life of me parse. And this was in Toronto. :P

hh.. ^_^ just imagine me trying to speak English (which I'm not good at, as you can see) with people from Germany, France, Finland, etc.. Now that's something! ^_^

Man I'm still debating and seeing if I can actually be crazy enough to go. Gonna be a last minute decision for sure.
